Children's Clock Shapes

Toy Kits are designed for infants, young toddlers, older toddlers, and preschoolers. Each one comes in a clean package with a toy, book, and play ideas.

They can be exchanged on a regular basis. Gone are the days when you have to buy all your child's toys and figure out what to do with them when after your child no longer needs them.

Let us help you make the most of the precious moments with your child.

Toy Kits

Each Toy Kit comes a with toy, book, and resource card full of play ideas.

Toy kits are organized into four main categories: Infants, Young Toddlers, Older Toddlers, and Preschoolers based on a child's monthly age.

Each Toy Kit comes with play ideas that are based on the learning continuum provided by Ohio Department of Education's Early Learning and Development Standards. The standards can be found here.

By using the play ideas to engage in meaningful play for short periods of time a few times a week, you can confirm your child has the knowledge needed for kindergarten readiness. This is information every parent should know. Daytime programs may not sufficiently prepare your unique child. Children learn at their own pace and in their own way. Your child naturally has multiple intelligences and may learn differently than how they are currently being taught. Only through checking on what they know will you know they are on track or not. Learning about their style early will give you the key to unlocking all future learning.

We work to support you to make it simple and easy.

History

Toy Lending Library of Cincinnati was incorporated in Ohio in April 2016 as a nonprofit by Founder Patricia M. Knueven. The founding Board of Directors were Robin Clark and Margaret D. Knueven. In June 2016 we gained 501c(3) status as a public charity.

We opened virtually on March 7, 2025. Our main goal is to become part of the solution of educating young children to prepare them sufficiently for kindergarten. Children who have a foundation of learning during their first few years of life prior to formal education have a greater capacity to learn leading to success in school and later in life. Parents who know their child's unique learning style can help them succeed at any age. We strive to play a role in the economic change that will improve our society across Ohio with an increase in learning leading to a bright future later in life.

Our mission is provide members resources to promote early quality education for children from birth to 5.

Members can be parents, grandparents, nannies, babysitters, extended family members, and people in supporting organizations that spend time teaching and nurturing a child. We allow such a broad category for membership because we understand that it takes a village to raise a child. There are many adults in the village that a child can learn from. We hope to provide members support in the home environment of children by providing enriching materials that foster early learning skills. Our first program is our Toy Kits. Each Toy Kit contains all the materials and play ideas needed to foster warm, loving, educational moments between the adult and child. Children learn best through playful interactions with interesting tangible objects. We will lend the Toy Kits to members and replace them twice a month as long as their subscription lasts.
